    Shelter Island Taxi operates primarily on Shelter Island. We do go off island to the following locations during the summer or with prior arrangements. - Sag Harbor - East Hampton - Southampton - West Hampton - Montauk - Orient - Greenport - Southold
  • Is the taxi on call?
    Yes, the taxi is on call during the posted business hours. In the event of a trip outside posted business hours, pre arranged trips can be made available.
  • Does Shelter Island Taxi do weddings and other large events?
    Yes! Shelter Island Taxi is the premier transportation service on Shelter Island. We have vans as well as shuttle bus options for large events such as weddings, parties, or corporate events.
  • Can you pre-schedule rides?
    Yes, please either call the taxi at least 1 hour before you need a ride or send an email to info@shelterislandtaxiservice.com with details of the intended trip.
  • What are the payment options?
    Cash, Venmo, and all major credit cards are accepted.
  • Can we make a charge account?
    Yes, charge accounts can be made. Please send an email or talk to the driver.
  • Does Shelter Island Taxi offer discounted trips to Shelter Island residents?
    Yes. SIT is happy to provide a year round resident discount for the taxi service. Please send an email to info@shelterislandtaxiservice.com for more details.
  • Do you charge for children and pets?
    Pets and children under the age of 10 are free for all Shelter Island Taxi rides.
